VFW Competition – The Winning Finalists

This year along with our judge panel of industry leaders and VFW, we have chosen the top four emerging designers. It was not easy; all the designers have so much talent and potential. Although the 1st place winner, Jessie Liu, gets the sponsored runway show at VFW, we also recognize 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place and their efforts.

2nd Winner.

Eduardo de las Casas is a peruvian born fashion designer who now lives in Fort Lauderdale FL. He studied Fashion Design after moving to the US  having already finished a BS Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Lima.

His collection is striking and all his pieces are concise. With his engineering background it is easy to see the structured construction in his elegant pieces, however, he manages to add a sexy flair and contemporary style. You can see more of his work here:

3rd Winner.

Symantha Perrera, is a young emerging designer with a  BFA emphasizing in Fashion Design from the Art Institute of Chicago. She is an expert and knowledgeable of fabrics, finishing’s, construction, and design in relation to garments.

Her collection “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” caught our attention very quickly. With her prints and colors, it is an eccentric and modern version of being in the Wizard of Oz. Did we mention she also has matching sunglasses? A designer to keep an eye on. With her creativity and skills Symantha can be on her way to being the next Karen Walker! You can see her work here:
