My name is Pilar Aguilar, I am 23 years old and still at college. This year will be my last, however I have some experience in fashion.
I've been part of Design Week Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexi co. First when I was backstage and then another time being part of the fashion show with the theme Futurism, after that I enter various contests but that one I'm known more of is ELLE Mexico Diseña.
ELLE Mexico Diseña started my way into the real world of fashion, it's a national contest host by ELLE magazine were they are looking for new designers, the theme of the contest was Primary Colors and the challenge was to make a design with just the primary colors. I won first place with an embroidered dress and since then I started working for them, doing interviews, being a judge in the next contest and meeting great people such as the designers of DSquared2 or Purificación García; photographers like Paco Peregrín or Santiago Sierra, or models like Isabeli Fontana.
I am a huge fashion fanatic, for me fashion is not just something that put on everyday, it's a way of expressing the things you can't say out loud, the image you present to the world always tells a lot about what you are thinking, listening, reading, etcetera and I've always been fascinated by the human nature and how our brain and society works.
I love art, films, music, nature... once you know me, you know I will never judge a book by it's cover and I believe that every one has something to say, you may not like it but they do, I listen to everything and everyone. I think everyone has the right to express the way they seem appropriate.
I believe in freedom and doing what you love as long as you are not hurting anyone in the way, I am in love with love.
